TYPES OF GRANTS

Grants will be given only to public charities that are tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and "not a private foundation" under section 509(a) of the Code. Grants are most often awarded within the $10,000 to $50,000 range.

Within our areas of interest, the majority of our grants will be of the following types:

Program/Project support
Technical assistance
Operating support
Capital improvements (limited to early childhood programs)

Grants are not made to or for the following:

Individuals
Past operating deficits
Retirement of debt
Loans
Litigation
Projects promoting religion
Legislative lobbying or support of political candidates
International

Generally, grants are not made to or for the following:

Medical programs
Multi-year awards
Testimonial dinners
Events, annual campaigns, membership drives, or conferences
Endowments
Programs outside the state of Colorado

Exceptions may be made only at the discretion of the Board of Trustees.
